Port Lincoln Long Range Fishing/Diving on EdelweissFish the islands off Port lincoln in Edelweiss, a 50ft Custom built Cougar Cat owned and skippered by Simon Lawrence who is a new long range charter operator capable of taking up to 6 passengers and 2 crew. Greenly/Rocky IslandThese islands are approximately 60 nautical miles from Coffin Bay on the Eyre Peninsula. Travelling time is approximately 3 hours. Greenly Island has a well protected anchorage and is where the boat will moor at night. The anchorage at times can hold very large Kingfish. Samsons have also been caught within the anchorage. At nighttime when the floodlights are on the water fills up with baitfish, it is great fun catching these livies to be used the following day chasing Sambos and Kingies. There are major lumps around Greenly and Rocky Island which hold an abundance of fish. Bottom bouncing using cuttlefish or pilchard, or using a live bait or even jigging is on the agenda for a day's fishing. Be on the lookout for any bird activity on the surface of the water, that is a sure sign that Tuna are feeding on the top. Diving lures and surface skirts are used for trawling for Tuna. Rocky Island is a further 12nm further south of Greenly. Normally during the day, most of the fishing is conducted around Rocky Island. Tuna school around this island chasing the abundance of bait fish. Big Samsons and Kingfish can be found on the lumps around this island. Pearson IslandThe Pearson Group of islands is truely a special place to visit, someone has described these islands as the 8th wonder of the world, well they are not far wrong! The pristine waters surrounding these islands hold many varieties of fish. The Pearson group is approximately 90 nautical miles from Coffin Bay and is off the coast from Elliston on the Eyre Peninsula. Travelling time is approximately 6 hours. To breakup the fishing, Edelweiss has a 10ft Tinny strapped to her roof. Passengers can be transfered to the island to explore and even swim with the seals. What is provided?
